These hats are handmade and elaborated by Wayuus communities, located in the northeast of Colombia.
The raw material is a species of palm known as the Mawisa or Isi which grows in the foothills of the Makuira Mountains, where these communities are located. The artisans use the technique of weaving in serge or diagonal in each of the parts of the placemat.
It is advisable to use a damp cloth for cleaning. Not washable.
